Ernie came to Lewes from Norway long ago.
Trolls are said to guard treasure and bring good luck to those who visit them kindly.
Ernie was once for sale, but every time someone tried to bargain too low… he raised his price.
Eventually his price became so high that he decided to stay and watch over the shop instead.
